House Passes Surface Transportation Extension Act

The House passed HR 662, The Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2011 by a vote of 421-4. The bill provides continuing appropriations for Federal Highways and other transportation modes at the current level of spending until the end of the fiscal year, September 30, 2011. The bill now goes to the Senate for ratification.

Three Republicans voted no on the bill on the grounds that it did not entail any spending cuts: Amash (MI-3), Flake (AZ-6), and Stearns (FL-6).
